About the Role

As a Barista at Pier 69 Market, you will craft premium La Colombe espresso drinks, Rishi teas, smoothies, and juices for our loyal Bay Ridge community. You will be the first face our customers see each morning, and your energy and attention to detail will set the tone for their day.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve espresso beverages, drip coffee, teas, smoothies, and other specialty drinks according to our recipes and standards
  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow food safety protocols
  • Restock supplies, rotate inventory, and assist with opening or closing duties
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and handle transactions accurately
  • Communicate effectively with team members during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Prior barista or cafe experience preferred but not required -- we will train the right person
  • Genuine enthusiasm for coffee, tea, and hospitality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

As a Cook at Pier 69 Market, you will prepare breakfast, lunch, and signature menu items -- from our smash burgers and avocado toast to pancakes and pastas. You take pride in consistency, speed, and quality, and you thrive in a kitchen that values fresh, made-to-order food.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items according to our recipes, portions, and presentation standards
  • Work the grill, flat-top, and prep stations during breakfast and lunch service
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow all health and safety regulations
  • Assist with daily prep, including chopping, portioning, and stocking ingredients
  • Monitor food quality and freshness, rotating inventory properly
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar kitchen role preferred
  • Familiarity with food safety practices and kitchen sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, small kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
  • Reliable, able to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
