Owl's Head Park is one of Bay Ridge's greatest treasures — 27 acres of green space tumbling down a hillside toward New York Harbor, with sweeping views of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, a dog run, playgrounds, basketball courts, and some of the best sunset spots in all of Brooklyn. What the park has always lacked is a quality cafe within walking distance that matches the experience of being there.
Pier 69 Market is that cafe. We sit just a few blocks from the park's main entrance on Bay Ridge Avenue, making us the natural first stop before a morning walk or the last stop after an afternoon at the playground. Parents bringing kids to the swings grab a La Colombe latte and an acai bowl on the way in. Runners finishing the Shore Road loop from the park cool down with a cold-pressed juice or a protein smoothie. Dog walkers who just did the off-leash area at the bottom of the hill swing by for an iced cortado.
The connection between Pier 69 and the park is something our regulars know well. On weekends, the pattern is unmistakable: families stream in after the playground, groups of friends stop by after a hike through the trails, and the Sunday morning softball league makes us their unofficial post-game canteen. We are the cafe that Owl's Head Park deserves.
